SAS connection from Kraków to Copenhagen

On 10.04.2025, Janusz Kahl, CEO of NordicHouse and Consul of the Kingdom of Denmark in Kraków, participated in the grand opening of the new SAS connection from Kraków to Copenhagen.

With cinnamon rolls for passengers and a cake for the Scandinavian Airlines crew, more than just a new flight connection was launched in Kraków – a new chapter in the Kraków airport’s route network began. Daily flights to Copenhagen mean not only a convenient transfer to North America or Scandinavia, but also direct access to a city that captivates with its peace, modernity and the magic of streets straight from Andersen’s fairy tales.

The first Scandinavian Airlines flight from Copenhagen to Kraków carried 110 passengers. SAS thus officially joined the group of carriers operating from Kraków Airport.

The connection will be operated daily outside the peak season, and during the holiday season even four times a week. In the summer season, the carrier has planned 180 rotations (360 operations), which gives a total of around 43,000 seats by the end of the SUMMER 2025 season. Flights will also continue in winter – up to three times a week. SAS will use narrow-body Embraer E195 and Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft.

The authorities of the Kraków airport emphasize that the high frequency of the new carrier’s operations shows that despite the growing passenger traffic, the infrastructure of Kraków Airport still allows for the development of the network of connections – both for current and new airlines.

– I am pleased with the launch of the year-round connection from Kraków to Copenhagen by Scandinavian Airlines. I myself regularly travel to the capital of Denmark – a city that invariably delights with its combination of history, modernity and Scandinavian lifestyle. This new connection shows the potential of Scandinavian destinations, both in terms of tourism and business. I cordially invite you to visit Denmark – said Janusz Kahl, Consul of the Kingdom of Denmark in Kraków.

Thanks to the new connection, passengers from Krakow will gain convenient travel options not only to Denmark, but also to other Scandinavian countries, especially Norway, as well as to North America – including New York, Boston and Toronto.

Copenhagen – a city of hygge, history and magic

Just less than an hour and a half flight from Krakow, Copenhagen is a destination that delights at any time of the year. The capital of Denmark exudes the spirit of the Danish philosophy of hygge – an atmosphere of comfort, coziness and inner peace.

A walk through the colorful Nyhavn – the former port district, and today one of the most postcard-worthy parts of the city – is an opportunity to feel the atmosphere of Andersen’s fairy tales and the Scandinavian charm typical of Denmark. The street full of restaurants and colorful tenement houses is a must-see for every visit.

You can’t miss the legendary Tivoli – one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. This place, which inspired Walt Disney himself, offers both thrills on roller coasters and evening walks through illuminated gardens. It is a symbol of joy, carefreeness and spending time together – everything that the Danes value most.
