NordicHouse participated in the XXXIII edition of the Economic Forum in Karpacz on September 3, 2024. It is one of the largest and most important economic and political events in Central and Eastern Europe. The forum, during which leaders with a decisive influence on the fate of Poland, Europe and the world meet, is organized by the Institute of Eastern Studies.
The President of NordicHouse, Janusz Kahl, took part in the debate “Green transformation in cities and regions”. The speech was titled “The impact of EU directives on the green transformation of cities and regions – decarburization of buildings“.

The XXXIII edition of the Economic Forum took place in Karpacz on September 3-5, 2024 under the slogan “Time for new leaders: shaping the future together”. This year’s edition of the Forum was attended by over 6,000 guests from Poland and around the world. During the Forum, among others, 350 debates and 6 plenary sessions were held, numerous discussion panels, special events, workshops, press conferences, galas and concerts were held.
Organized for over three decades, the Economic Forum has become one of the most important points on the map of such events in this part of Europe. The guests of the Forum were presidents, heads of government, ministers, politicians and local government officials, CEOs of corporations, people of culture, recognized scientists, opinion-forming journalists and representatives of non-governmental organizations. For three days, the Karpacz Forum became a key place for discussions on the most important challenges shaping the present and future of Central and Eastern Europe.
The most important topics discussed during the XXXIII Economic Forum included: the impact of the war in Ukraine on the global security architecture, questions related to the green future, the issue of ethics in the development of artificial intelligence, as well as economic challenges in the era of crises in the third decade of the 21st century.
During the XXXIII Economic Forum, the “SGH and Economic Forum 2024 Report” was presented, i.e. the most comprehensive scientific study on the state of the economy in Poland and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The report, prepared by experts from the leading university in the country – the Warsaw School of Economics, describes current trends and socio-economic phenomena, enabling leaders of various areas to make key decisions.
The Karpacz Economic Forum is the largest meeting platform in Central and Eastern Europe, where not only discussions on security, prospects for economic development, contemporary challenges and overcoming crises are held, but also presents specific solutions and innovative ideas.
