NordicHouse hosts the Charleston Regional Development Alliance

On 21 October 2026, NordicHouse welcomed David T. Ginn, CEO, and Williamis Russell III, President of the Board of Directors of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance (CRDA), for a fact-finding visit to Poland. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on regional economic development, business growth, innovation, and international investment opportunities, while exploring potential areas of cooperation between Poland and the Charleston region of South Carolina, USA.

Exploring Opportunities for Polish–American Cooperation

The meeting with NordicHouse formed part of CRDA’s fact-finding visit to Poland, providing an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the Polish business environment and identify potential opportunities for cross-border collaboration.

Discussions around regional competitiveness, innovation ecosystems, workforce development, and investment promotion are particularly relevant to regions seeking to attract international businesses and build lasting economic partnerships. Sharing experiences between Poland and the Charleston region can help identify complementary strengths, facilitate business connections, and encourage future cooperation between companies and institutions on both sides of the Atlantic.

NordicHouse welcomes initiatives that bring together international partners, encourage knowledge exchange, and create new opportunities for economic and business collaboration. The visit marked a valuable step toward strengthening dialogue between the Polish and American business communities and exploring the potential for future joint initiatives.

NordicHouse looks forward to supporting continued international dialogue and building connections that foster innovation, investment, and sustainable regional growth.

Connecting Regions Through Economic Development

The Charleston Regional Development Alliance is a regional economic development organization bringing together business, academic, and public-sector partners to strengthen the competitiveness and long-term prosperity of the Charleston region. Working across three counties with a population of nearly one million people, CRDA promotes the region as an attractive destination for business investment, expansion, and innovation.

Under the leadership of David T. Ginn, CRDA works closely with business executives, universities, research institutions, and political leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive regional economic strategy. Its activities include international business development, global marketing, talent attraction, and support for companies considering relocation or expansion.

Innovation, Talent and Investment as Drivers of Growth

A key element of CRDA’s development agenda is Charleston Inspired, the region’s 2025-2030 strategic roadmap, developed in collaboration with Ernst & Young (EY) and regional stakeholders. The strategy focuses on strengthening Charleston’s position as an innovation-driven region, attracting and developing highly skilled talent, and improving access to capital, technology, and coordinated business support.

The Charleston region benefits from a diverse economic ecosystem encompassing aerospace, automotive manufacturing, information technology, tourism, port operations, logistics, healthcare, and advanced research. Supported by universities, technical colleges, and a skilled workforce, the region offers a strong foundation for sustainable business development and international investment.

The Port of Charleston also plays an important role in regional and international trade, reinforcing the area’s position as a major logistics and manufacturing hub in the southeastern United States.
