Conference on opportunities and challenges of Polish exports

On September 30, 2025, the “Business. Export. Made in Poland” event took place at the Socio-Economic Innovation Cluster in Krakow. It was an initiative jointly organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and the Krakow City Hall.

The meeting provided a unique opportunity to discuss the opportunities and challenges of Polish exports, as well as how we can jointly strengthen the Polish brand in international markets.

A special panel, attended by the CEO of NordicHouse, Janusz Kahl who is also the Consul of Denmark, Finland, and Iceland in Southern Poland, focused on exports to Scandinavian countries and the barriers faced by Polish exporters in these markets.

The event was opened by the First Deputy Mayor of Krakow, Professor Stanisław Mazur, who emphasized the importance of the city’s development and its role in building a strong economy. Bohdan Pawłowicz, the PAIH Board Representative for the Polish Economy Brand, then presented a strategy for strengthening Poland’s brand internationally.

Three panel discussions addressed topics including:

• challenges facing Małopolska companies
• the role of institutions supporting business and financing development
• prospects for cooperation with Scandinavia – a region from which we can learn about innovation and sustainable development

The panel on exporting to Scandinavian markets included: Janusz Kahl (Honorary Consul of Denmark, Finland, and Iceland), Tomasz Balcerowski (Honorary Consul of Sweden), and Marian Mikolajski (Honorary Consul of Norway).

Heated discussions meant that the event lasted over an hour longer than planned – a testament to the importance and engaging nature of these topics.
