Study visit in Oresund

On August 20-22, 2008 NordicHouse organized a study visit to Øresund - the Danish-Swedish science region (Copenhagen, Malmø, Lund).

The participants of the visit were: Marek Nawara - Marshal of the Malopolska Region, Jerzy Jedlinski - Marshal´s plenipotentiary for innovation and Janusz Kahl - CEO of NordicHouse. The aim of this visit was to show the activities of Øresund in the field of innovation and collaboration between public authorities, universities and private companies (tripple helix principle).
The delegation met the Chairman of the Copenhagen Region, Vibeke Storm Rasmussen and the director of the region responsible for innovations, Jens Christian Sørensen.
Marek Nawara and Vibeke Storm Rasmussen discussed the role of the region in supporting innovations and opportunities for further interregional cooperation, which started back in 1992.
The main purpose of the visit in Copenhagen were meetings with Bengt Strijffert, the director of the Øresund Science Region, representatives of Medicon Valley, the director Stig Jørgensen and the chairman of the Supervisory Board Mikael Ørum and, Peter Höjerback, the director of the Øresund IT. All the institutions have expressed their interest in helping in establishing Malopolska Science Region and innovative platforms (clusters) in Malopolska.
The delegation also visited Symbion, the largest Technology Park in Denmark represented by Morten Mølgaard Jensen. The Technology Park Symbion also expressed an interest in cooperating with Malopolska Region.
