NordicHouse has started cooperation with the Architectural Office D&W Architects in Poland and Scandinavia. D&W Architects has great experience from Scandinavian and local building market thanks to the knowledge of Scandinavian technical solutions, project organization and budget development.
Maud Olofsson in Krakow
On 14-17 May, 2010 Sweden’s Industry and Energy Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Maud Olofsson visited Krakow. The CEO in NordicHouse and Swedish consul in Krakow, Janus Kahl, was responsible for arranging her private stay in the city. The visit was an extension of her official visit hosted by Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister, Waldemar Pawlak.
A lecture by prof. Jan Gehl (DK)
On May 10, 2010 NordicHouse organized together with the publishing firm RAM and Krakow City Hall a lecture of the world famous Danish architect and urban theorist, prof. Jan Gehl “Life between buildings”. This lecture was at the same time a promotion of his famous book, which was translated into more than 20 languages “Living between buildings”.
EU - tender in Denmark
April 28, 2010, Janus Kahl, CEO in NordicHouse and leader of our Copenhagen office, Martin, took part in an information meeting with Danish Agency for Spatial and Environmental Planning at the Hilton Hotel in Kastrup Airport.
Funeral of the tragically deceased Polish presidential couple
Sunday, April 18, 2010 Janus Kahl, CEO in NordicHouse commented in Danish TV on the official state burial of the Polish president, Lech Kaczynski, who died under tragic circumstances. The transmission of the burial in Krakow was carried out by the national TV channel, TV News and journalist, Ulla Terkelsen.
Danish products in Leroy Merlin
NordicHouse succeeded in placing products in Leroy Merlin in Poland as an agent for Danish producer Danbrush. French Leroy Merlin is one of Europe´s biggest construction market chains. The company owns 38 construction markets and together with Italian Castorama and German OBI is the biggest in Poland.

In January 2010 - Issue 21 - monthly periodic ”Discover Poland” has placed an article about NordicHouse entitled ”Krakow – Europe´s New Centre of Business and Culture”.
The article describes different activities in NordicHouse and concludes ”With so many projects and partnerships on the go, one thing is certain – NordicHouse is keeping one step ahead”.
New products in Poland
NordicHouse helps the Danish merchant company TTMediTrade in introducing their new products on the Polish market. The products within the nursing sector address especially elderly people, that are treated with compression therapy for venous leg ulcers.
Visit in Uppsala, Sweeden
On 11-13 November, 2009, Janus Kahl, CEO in NordicHouse, visited Uppsala, the main city in Uppsala Region. Uppsala Region signed in September 2009 an agreement on interregional cooperation with the Region of Malopolska in Southern Poland.
Swedish trainee in NH
The 20 year old Swedish trainee, Tareq Shtaye, started his internship in NordicHouse in September 2009. Tareq is studying Peace and Conflict Studies in Malmo University in Sweden. He will assist NordicHouse with work with Swedish health care institutions, Swedish business companies including recruitment and will take part in the interregional cooperation with the Region of Uppsala till the end of the year.
